Bootcamp is a high intensity cross training experience that focuses on cardio and weight loss. The class consists of an interval of exercises creating strength and targeting isolated muscle groups using bands, plyometrics, leg extensions, sprints, kettlebells, lunges, burpees, squats, planks, tri-cep dips, handstands, mountain climbers, push-ups and LOTS of creative core work. The group setting is fun, time flies, and it’s designed for all ages and all levels. We target the 5 components of physical fitness: cardiovascular-respiratory, muscle strength & endurance, flexibility and body composition.
Deep down you know the truth. It takes courage to be willing to look at yourself deep down and feel what's there. In this practice, we will go deep down into our bodies and get really close to the earth. We settle into a pose for 3-7 minutes, which gives us that time to go deep. The muscles begin to relax and we are able to move past that superficial level and allow ourselves to settle into the bones, ligaments, joints, fascia and connective tissue. At this point, we find stillness so that we can look, listen and feel the body's ever-changing sensations. Come experience your beauty and truth within.
Prenatal yoga is designed specifically for pregnancy. We will take time to connect with our growing babies and changing bodies through the breath and asana. The class will focus on strength and flexibility needed for pregnancy and birth, breathing for relaxation, and restoration. Come bond with other woman on the same journey to motherhood.
ABOUT TONIA: Tonia is a certified yoga instructor, doula, lactation consultant, childbirth educator and labor and delivery nurse. Prenatal yoga is a lovely way to connect with your growing baby and strengthen your body for a more comfortable pregnancy and empowered birth.
A perfect ending to your week, this class will leave you feeling renewed for your week ahead! This deeply relaxing class includes easy postures that are held from 5-15 minutes. Props are used to support the body and avoid over-stretching so that we can stimulate our parasympathetic nervous system, which is key to restoring the body, lowering stress, and staying balanced. Restorative yoga is an extremely healing practice with tons of benefits; studies have shown that it can reduce anxiety, improve adrenal fatigue, promote weight loss, improve digestion, lower cholesterol, and so much more. We’ll also incorporate breathing techniques and meditation to take your practice a step further.
"I've been a member at Trailside for almost a year now. I can't say enough about how good and knowledgeable the teachers are, how supportive the environment is, and how much both the teachers and students care about each other, our community, and healthy living. Classes range from beginner to challenging, and from intense workout level to relaxation and meditation. I have recommended Trailside to anyone I've ever talked to about yoga because it has helped me become a better and healthier person. There truly is something for everyone here."
